Payment Options
After accepting the housing offer on line, the charges for the housing contract will appear on the student’s BruinBill account. The housing offer details the total costs and payments for the room/building offer.
Payment Due Date
The initial installment must be paid on the student’s BruinBill account by the due date stated on the housing offer. If the initial payment is not received prior to the due date, the student’s housing offer will be canceled.
Note: By accepting the Housing offer and making the initial payment, the student enters into a binding legal contract for the entire academic year. The student will be obligated to make all payments according to the selected payment schedule, whether or not the student checks into the room.
Forms of Payment
The payment for the initial housing installment, as well as all future housing installments, is made to the student’s BruinBill account. Payments made with VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express are charged a 2.75% transaction fee, but students also may select the eCheck option, available free of charge, to make payments from a bank account.
Terminating Your Contract
If after accepting an offer and paying the initial payment, a resident wishes to terminate their contract, a written request to terminate the contract must submitted to the Housing Services. Please be sure to include:
- Full name
- University ID number
- Brief statement explaining the request to terminate the contract
Please submit this request via email to uclahousing@housing.ucla.edu. A $500 early termination fee will be assessed to any cancellation.
After the tenant has moved in, they may request a Notice of Intent to Vacate.
