What to Bring  

Residents should bring towels, pillows, linens to fit an extra long twin bed (36" x 80"), and a non-halogen desk lamp. Residents may also wish to bring a stereo, television, clock, fan, computer, printer, power strip/surge protector and a mini-vacuum.

What Not to Bring  

Due to fire insurance and health and safety requirements, the following items are not allowed in rooms or buildings:

  • halogen lamps
  • coffee makers
  • hot water dispensers
  • toasters
  • toaster ovens
  • freestanding microwaves*
  • an appliance with open coils
  • candles
  • gas stoves
  • barbecues
  • any flammable materials
  • electric space heaters
  • waterbeds
  • materials to make lofted beds
  • dartboards

    * Due to limited electrical capacity a separate microwave is not allowed. Residents may want to rent a MicroFridge which is a combination microwave and refrigerator unit.

    Students may not bring or maintain pets or animals of any kind in the residence halls. Fish are an exception, but the tank must not exceed 10 gallons.
