Undergraduate Returning Resident Offer Acceptance

After completing RSU, all eligible returning students must also accept their official housing offer to secure their housing for the upcoming academic year. Housing Services will email all students once the housing offer is available.

Housing Offer Instructions
After logging into the housing portal, select Housing Application from the menu, then enter the Undergraduate Academic Year term. Students are required to select their contract options, sign and download a copy of your housing contract, and pay the initial payment, if prompted. The offer acceptance process is complete once the Application Status page of he application shows the status as 5-Offer Accepted.

Step-by-step instructions for accepting an offer are available via the Undergraduate Offer Walkthrough.

Students wishing to request a new building, room type, room, and/or Living Learning Community (LLC) can submit a Change of Assignment Request (CAR). The link to the CAR website can be found on the My Housing website. A student must accept their offer before they can submit a CAR. Submitting the request will allow the student to indicate which building/room type they are interested in switching to, as well as providing the reason for the request. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the CAR website will be available until 8:00 a.m. on July 21, 2025.

CARs are not guaranteed and are based on space availability. All CARs are reviewed from the submit date through the summer. If the request can be accommodated, students will be notified the day the change is made. If the request cannot be accommodated, students will be notified their request was not able to be completed by the end of the summer.

Students wishing to opt into or out of gender inclusive housing after receiving their housing offer may do so via the housing portal. A student must accept their offer before they can update their gender inclusive response for the term. Once the offer is accepted, students can update their response under the “Manage Your Housing” option on the housing portal. All requests to update a gender inclusive response will be approved. However, although Housing Services attempts to keep students in the same building and/or room type as their previous offer, requesting to opt into or out of gender inclusive housing after receiving a housing offer may result in a change to the housing offer which may result in a contract cost increase.

Most students are required to pay an initial payment at the time they accept their housing offer. Whether or not a student has an initial payment is dependent upon their financial aid information. If a student's Estimated Student Aid Index (SAI) is 1000 or less, they are not required to pay an initial payment.

The initial payment is not a separate deposit. It is a part of the total contract cost and will be applied toward the Fall quarter installment.

Roommate information will be released once all room and roommate information is finalized at the end of the summer. Housing Services will not provide any name or contact information for roommates until then.

Students needing University housing for fall quarter are issued a housing offer for the full academic year. Students who are graduating or participating in an Education Abroad Program (EAP) mid-year will be required to sign a contract for the full academic year but will be eligible to cancel their contract early. More information about the contract cancellation process can be found here.
