DormHealth Linen Plan FAQs

1. What is the Linen Plan, and what does it provide?
The Linen Plan provides students living on the Hill with hotel-style linens, including a white Twin XL sheet set (pillowcase, flat sheet, fitted sheet) and a bath towel. Enrolled students can exchange used linens for professionally laundered, clean linens at their front desk, up to twice per week per item.

2.How do I enroll?
Via the DormHealth website: https://dormhealth.org/campus/ucla

3. Can I check out just bath towels or sheet sets?
Students may check out only what they want (for example, just bath towels or just sheet sets).
Sheet-set components (pillowcase, flat sheet, fitted sheet) cannot be exchanged individually. Sheet sets are issued and exchanged only as a complete bundle.

4. Can I request more than one towel or sheet set at a time?
Students may only check out one bath towel and one sheet set at a time, to ensure fair access, prevent overuse, and align with our sustainability initiatives.

5. Do linen exchanges rollover from week to week?
Linen exchanges do not rollover. Enrolled students receive two bath towel exchanges and two sheet set exchanges per week.

6. How does my student pick up their first linens?
Students moving in during the designated UCLA Housing Move-In window (September 16 to September 19, 2026) will receive pickup instructions by email before move-in week.

Students moving in outside the scheduled move-in window may pick up their first set at any of the four front desks (De Neve, Sproul Hall, Rieber Hall, Hedrick Hall) using their BruinCard.

7. How do front desk exchanges work?
Exchange linens using your BruinCard at any of the four front desks (De Neve, Sproul Hall, Rieber Hall, Hedrick Hall).
To receive a new item, the student must return the item being exchanged.
●    Bath towel: return one used towel, receive one clean towel
●    Sheet set: return one used sheet set, receive one clean set

Sheet-set components (pillowcase, flat sheet, fitted sheet) cannot be exchanged individually. Sheet sets are issued and exchanged only as a complete bundle.

If a student loses an individual item, see the FAQ section on item loss.

8. What happens if I lose or damage an item? Can I still check out another item?
Students are responsible for checked-out linens, including items borrowed by roommates or taken by others. Normal wear and tear is covered. If damage is excessive, DormHealth may assess a Damage Fee in accordance with the Terms.

If a student loses an item (bath towel, pillowcase, flat sheet, fitted sheet), it will be logged as unreturned, but students can still check out a replacement towel or full sheet set. No immediate penalty applies, but a per-item fee is charged only for items still unreturned at the end of the service term.

8. If my linens have visible soiling or contamination after use, what should I do?
Ask the front desk for a disposable bag, place the used linens inside, and return them. All returned linens are processed by a hospitality-grade laundry facility with high sanitation standards.

9. What happens if a front desk runs out of an item?
During the academic year, each front desk maintains a large but limited daily linen supply available first-come, first-served basis. If an item is out of stock, students can visit another desk or return the next day. Inventory is replenished regularly.

During Move-In Week, linen supply is guaranteed for all enrolled Linen Plan students.

9. Do I need to return checked-out linens at the end of the year?
Yes, all linen items must be returned. An “item” is a bath towel, fitted sheet, flat sheet, or pillowcase. Unreturned items incur a $15 fee per item at the end of the service term.

10. What are the specific dates and terms of Linen Plan coverage?
For the 2026–27 UCLA Academic Year, enrolled students may pick up linens starting Sunday, August 23, 2026, and must return all items by Wednesday, June 16, 2027.

Exchanges are available only while front desks are open. During university breaks (such as Winter Break), service may pause or operate with reduced hours and students may be notified in advance. If service is unavailable, students may use on-campus laundry facilities.

11. How much does the Linen Plan cost and can financial aid be applied?
Enroll by Friday, August 14, 2026 (5:00 PM PT) through the DormHealth enrollment link to receive the early rate of $245 for the academic year. After that date, the price is $295.

Because this is an opt-in service, the charge is not eligible for financial aid. Payment is due at sign-up and cannot be deferred.

12. What is Linen Loss Protection?
Linen Loss Protection is an optional paid add-on that waives the $15 unreturned item fee for up to 4 unreturned items.

13. What is the Daily Exchange Upgrade?
The Daily Exchange Upgrade is an optional paid add-on that increases bath towel exchanges from 2 per week to 7 per week.

14. What if I cancel my housing contract, study abroad, or move off the Hill?
The Linen Plan is non-refundable once purchased. If a student has a documented medical withdrawal, CAR (change of assignment), leave of absence, or study abroad program, DormHealth may consider a prorated refund on a case-by-case basis. Alternatively, students who move off of the Hill, may also choose to continue using the Linen Plan.

15. Why can’t I cancel if the service hasn’t started yet?
Enrollment is final and non-transferable once purchased. DormHealth plans inventory, staffing, and logistics based on advance sign-ups to run the program reliably and keep pricing lower.

16. Why is enrollment limited?
DormHealth may cap Linen Plan enrollment at a given university to maintain reliable access and consistent service quality for enrolled students.

17. Do I need to buy separate linens if enrolled in the Linen Plan?
No, the linen plan provides both sheet sets and bath towels for the duration of the service term.

18. Who do I contact for questions or issues?
For Linen Plan questions, contact DormHealth Support at support@dormhealth.org.
For other housing-related questions, contact your residential front desk or UCLA Housing at uclahousing@housing.ucla.edu.
